  7. By reading some articles on pi; downloading some interesting articles; mailing some of them to friends including one whose name sounds the same as pi; participating in some discussions on pi on the net; and fooling around with some of the pi digit studies.

  8. I have so far(in Math Class)
    ~Memorized 102 Digits of Pi!
~Learned About Pi from HW (Measuring Circumference and diameter)
    ~Ate round Circle Objects(including Pi)

  9. I started the Precelebration of pi yesterday, with a coordinate plane worksheet where we translated, rotated, and reflected pi. Afterwards, the students did a circle scavenger hunt.

Then today in my 7th grade class, I read a book about pi. Then we had a contest to see which student memorized the most digits in pi. The winner went up to 103 places. Afterwards we celebrated by eating and eating and eating.
The prerequisite for the party is that the food had to have a circular shape(Cakes, pies, cupcakes, Funyuns, pizza, cookies, donuts…….) Then I had a few students who made me a crown that read QUEEN OF PI. Four classes, four parties, yep, I’m wiped today.

  10. We had a project to make pies and find the circumference and area of them….we eventually got to eat them:)

  11. My math teacher surprised my 7th grade class when we saw a bunch of number on the board. And by a lot I mean a lot. He told us that today is Pi day and all of his math classes were celebrating in a contest to see how many digits of pi they could write on the board. He printed out a million digits in rows. On and on. Ben and Kevin decided to be our homerooms writers. Kevin called out the numbers and Ben wrote. While they were doing that, I and four others did the homeroom Pi representation contest on the board by drawing a bunch of corny phrases like a snake in the shape of pi (Pithon) eyes with pi in their eyes (you are the apple of my pi)a guitar with pi coming out (Pi rocks) etc. Others draw things that had to do with pi on paper. By the end of class Ben had written 39 rows of pi digits. Beat that 7C! Sadly when I came back to check on how the other homerooms were doing, 7C had an awesome pi representation. But our math teacher said he couldn’t decide the winner. Happy Pi day!

  12. My B-day’s today!

  13. Today in my 8th grade Algebra we celebrated pi day. My teacherr (she’s great) brought in like 6 kinds of pie, and read us Sir Cumference and the First Round Table while we ate our pie. It was corny, but really fun! Happy pi day!

  14. Today my students brought in pie, which we ate after learning about pi. We measured the circumference and diameter of the pie, and divided to find an approximation of pi. We cut up paper circles into increasingly greater numbers of pie slices and rearranged them into increasingly rectangular shapes, thus enabling ourselves to derive a formula for the area of a circle. I recited pi to 200 places. I wore my pi t-shirt and everywhere I went students wished me a happy Pi Day. One student started saying, “pi!” instead of “hi!” and “bye!”, so I copied that. It was an absolutely great day, and I can’t wait until Pi Day next year!

  15. We had pie at the office!

  16. You know, I thought that maybe I would play a little bit on the Wii, for about 3 hours and 14 minutes. Then I will call two friends who live in the 314 area code to let them know that I’m thinking of them. I was thinking of having a small party, but that would be irrational! Then I’ll finish the day with a piece of cake, because I want to keep my PI!

Then I will cut the pie into 22/7 pieces by dividing its circumference by its diameter.

Then I will either watch “The Pied Piper of Hamlin” or an episode of Magnum PI.
